The PTA welcomes you
to the 2009 -2010 school year! By becoming a member of the HMS PTA you
will be supporting many of the programs that enrich your child’s middle
school experience. Over the past years, the PTA has funded either
partially or in full:

Our membership drive is our main source of fundraising. PTA membership
is open not only to parents, but also grandparents, extended family and
community members. We encourage each family to join and become partners
with the staff of Hammond Middle School to work together to provide
academic, cultural and social programs that benefit our student body.
Get an A+ in Fundraising – Join the Viking Club Allergic to
cookie dough? Have enough gift wrap? The Viking Club is smart
fundraising and it’s easy for everyone. Fundraising programs are
necessary, but unfortunately, they aren’t always cost effective. Usually
an organization will receive only half of the profits from a campaign.
That doesn’t factor in the volunteer hours needed to plan, organize and
execute the program. A direct donation ensures that 100% of your money
goes to its intended designation. No meetings to attend, no forms to
take to work, a direct donation takes as much time as it takes to write
a check. Who doesn’t like an easy A+?
